BANJARMASIN - The Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) of Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan ensured that the price of cooking oil on the market, especially in modern retail, was stable.

"From several retailers that we have visited, they are very aspirational, and residents welcome them. This means that prices are in accordance with government regulations," said Head of Trade Strengthening and Development of the Banjarmasin Industry and Trade Department, Rakhman Norrahim in Banjarmasin, Antara, Thursday, February 3rd.

In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) No. 6 of 2022 concerning the highest retail price of cooking oil, his party is all socializing about this.

Rakhman said the highest retail price (HET) for bulk cooking oil was set at Rp11,500 per liter, simple packaged cooking oil at Rp13,500 per liter and premium packaged cooking oil at Rp14,000 per liter.

"According to the inspections we have conducted around modern retail, all have complied with that," he explained.

However, he said, cooking oil stocks are limited in some retailers, until they are released in stages, this is to anticipate that there will be wholesalers.

"So there are some retailers, we ask why they are empty on the sales shelves, but the warehouses are still there, they were told that they had just run out, they were being put back in stages, so that no one wanted to buy them," he explained.

He also asked people not to over-buy cooking oil, for fear that it would run out and be expensive again, because that would not happen again.

"We also ask modern retailers or others not to sell cooking oil outside the provisions, because there will be sanctions," he said.

Rakhman also ensured that this monitoring activity does not end here, his party will continue to carry out surveillance.

In the future, his party will also coordinate with the South Kalimantan Provincial Trade Office, so that they can directly check the availability at the modern retail master warehouse.

"We also do this as monitoring ahead of the fasting month, because usually at that time the need for cooking oil and sugar is certainly very high. With this activity we also hope that inflation in Banjarmasin will also decrease," he said.
