LAMPUNG - The Lampung Provincial Health Office (Dinkes) recommends studying online for a while if a positive confirmed case of COVID-19 is found in the educational environment.

"The implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM) is carried out according to the PPKM level," said Head of the Lampung Provincial Health Office, Reihana when contacted in Bandarlampung, Antara, Thursday, February 3.

"If there are positive cases of COVID-19 from students or teachers, it is recommended that schools go online temporarily and conduct case searches for all school residents," added Reihana.

He explained that this was done to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in the educational environment.

"Health protocols such as using masks, washing hands, avoiding crowds, maintaining distance, reducing mobility must be carried out continuously, so as not to loosen," he said.

According to him, with the addition of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19, it is hoped that it will become a concern by re-tightening the implementation of health protocols in the school environment.

"This must be our common concern, and we must re-implement health protocols when carrying out activities," he said again.

Based on data from the Education and Culture Office of Lampung Province, the total number of schools in Lampung at the SMA/SMK/SLB level is 1,035 units, with 311,934 students, 21,893 teachers, and 6,209 education staff. And almost all schools have implemented face-to-face learning.

However, it is known that in Bandarlampung City there have been positive cases of COVID-19 infecting high school and vocational high school students as well as educators and education staff.
