2 People In Kudus Exposed To COVID-19 Delta, One Dies Of Comorbid

KUDUS - Loekmono Hadi Kudus Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Central Java, noted that during the last two months there were patients who were confirmed positive for the delta variant of COVID-19, while currently two patients are still undergoing treatment who are suspects.

"The first patient who was confirmed positive for COVID-19 was the delta variant on December 8, 2021, while the second was identified on January 29, 2022," said Director of the Loekmono Hadi Kudus Hospital, Abdul Aziz Achyar, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 3.

This, he said, was known after the swab test of two COVID-19 patients at the Center for Disease Vector and Reservoir Research and Development (BBPPVRP) Salatiga.

Of the two patients, he said, one patient was declared dead due to comorbidities, while the other managed to recover.

Meanwhile, for now, there are no positive COVID-19 patients being treated, while there are two suspected patients. One of the patients was a three-month-old toddler.

He noted that on February 2, 2022, there were three suspected COVID-19 patients, but two of them tested negative for COVID-19 and one patient was still waiting for the results of the second PCR test to confirm the results.

Then today, February 3, there was another additional suspected COVID-19 patient who was still a toddler because the results of the examination of the patient showed symptoms of being exposed to the corona virus.

"For now, there are no positive COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at the Kudus Hospital because there are suspected patients," he said.

In anticipation of a spike in cases, Loekmono Hadi Kudus Hospital prepared 59 beds for COVID-19 patients because it was one of the first referral hospitals for handling COVID-19 patients.

The dozens of beds are spread across the ICU and treatment rooms at Dahlia 1. RSUD Kudus has also prepared a centralized isolation area utilizing the former building of the Kudus Akbid. with a capacity of 96 beds.
