JAKARTA - The chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, has again implemented a number of restrictions on activities in the council building. This follows an increase in COVID-19 cases which is getting higher due to the Omicron variant.

"The WFH (work from home) system will be implemented again starting today," said Puan Maharani, Thursday, February 3.

This decision was taken after the DPR Leadership Meeting (Rapim) and the DPR RI Deliberative Body Meeting (Bamus) were held. Puan said the official work system would be flexible with a maximum attendance capacity of 50% per day.

"Commission and board meetings (AKD) with partners will only be attended by a maximum of 30% of participants and a maximum of 15.30 WIB according to office hours during the social restriction period," explained the first woman who served as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

Puan said that physical meetings that took place at the DPR Building could be held for a maximum of 2 hours. The parties who attend the working meeting are also limited.

"From the work partners, only the Minister and assistants were physically present, then from the commissions, only the commissioners and head of staff were present," said Puan.

“Participants of the working meeting or RDP (hearing meeting) are required to have a PCR or antigen test beforehand. All staff and assistants attended the meeting via live streaming," continued the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

The restrictions on the DPR complex area in Senayan, Jakarta, will come into effect from 3 February 2022 until further notice.

"Adjusting to the pandemic situation," said Puan.

Restrictions on activity in the DPR Building area were taken as a step to prevent the spread of the virus. The reason is that relatively many positive cases were found. Based on data from the Secretariat General of the DPR RI, as of yesterday, Wednesday, February 2, there were 9 members and 80 DPR employees who were positive for COVID-19.
