Rizieq Shihab Takes The Initiative To Give A Gift To Edy Mulyadi, There Is A Symbol Of 'Against Abuse' Support Behind It

JAKARTA - The suspect in the alleged hate speech case, Edy Mulyadi, received a gift from Rizeq Shihab on the first day of detention at the Bareskrim remand center. It turned out that the gift was an initiative from Rizeq Shihab.

"Yes (Rizieq Shihab's initiative, ed)," said Rizieq Shihab's lawyer, Aziz Yanuari to VOI, Thursday, February 3.

According to Aziz, Rizieq Shihab gave gifts in the form of food. There is fruit for dinner too.

The gift giving from Rizieq was referred to as a symbol of support. Both are often critical of the government.

"HRS supports the fight against injustice," said Aziz.

In addition, Aziz said that there had been no direct meeting between Rizieq Shihab and Edy Mulyadi. Although, both of them are in the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

"There is no (meeting, red) yet," said Aziz.

Previously, Edy Mulyadi's attorney, Herman Kadir, said that Rizieq Shihab's parcel contained food. However, it was not detailed about the purpose of providing food from Rizieq Shihab.

"A gift of dinner or fruit from Habib Rizieq Shihab and Alhamdulillah, I'm very grateful that he got a gift from Habib Rizieq Shihab," said Herman.
