Police Name 2 Suspects In Corruption Cases Of Flats In Cengkareng

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has named two suspects in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of land designated for flats (rusun) in Cengkareng, West Jakarta. One of them has the initials S who is a former Head of the Housing and Settlement Development Division of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Housing and Building Office.

"The two suspects are named S (Sukmana) and RHI (Rudy Hartono Iskandar)," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Wednesday, February 2.

The alleged corruption case, continued Ramadhan, occurred in 2015. At that time, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Housing and Building Office purchased a plot of 4.69 hectares and 1,137 meters of land for Rp668 billion.

"It is suspected that there was a flow of kickbacks from the Sales Proxy to unscrupulous procurement officials and other officials related to the land acquisition process," said Ramadhan.

"Which has benefited myself and others," he continued.

Later, Ramadhan also said that in this case several pieces of evidence had been confiscated. Some of them are girik documents, required documents for issuance of SHM, certificates related to Cengkareng land, land acquisition process documents, and land payment processing documents.

"The land object is suspected to be partially or completely in a problematic condition, and or the SHM is suspected to be the result of engineering, so that it cannot be controlled, owned and fully utilized, resulting in state financial losses," said Ramadhan.

In that case, the two suspects were charged with Article 2 and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.
