JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that former Garuda Indonesia flight attendant Siwi Widi had returned a large amount of IDR 648 million he received from the son of the official Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Wawan Ridwan, Muhammad Farsha Kautsar.

Siwi's receipt of the money was revealed in Wawan's indictment which was read out at the Jakarta Corruption Court some time ago.

"From the information we have received, witness Siwi Widi has now returned all the money he allegedly enjoyed as described in the prosecutor's indictment," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Wednesday, February 2.

Ali said the KPK appreciated Siwi's refund. However, he asked the former flight attendant to be cooperative to be present when questioned as a witness at the Jakarta Corruption Court.

"KPK appreciates those who are cooperative in returning money that is suspected to be related to the case," he said.

"However, to be clearer and clearer the defendant's actions, of course, we hope that the witness will also be cooperative when his testimony is required before the panel of judges," Ali added.
