SOLO - The mayor of Gibran Rakabuming Raka gave a relaxed response to netizens' tweets regarding the installation of lanterns at City Hall and Pasar Gede Solo area. According to Gibran, only stressed people have a problem with it.

"You don't have to respond, people are stressed," Gibran said, quoted from Youtube news in Surakarta, Wednesday, January 2.

Gibran said, every year the Solo City Government celebrates Chinese New Year by installing lanterns or ornaments that are identical to the celebration. Moreover, residents who come apply strict health protocols.

"Every year there are lanterns, why are they protesting now," said Gibran.

Gibran's response started from a tweet from one netizen who informed him that there was a rejection via a tweet on Twitter about the installation of lanterns at City Hall.

On his Twitter account (@gibran_tweet), Gibran asked this netizen to provide a screenshot of another netizen's protest regarding the installation of lanterns.

In addition, there is also an account @TimbulParu**** who tweeted the installation of lanterns. "Loh, why are the 2 trees hanging with lanterns? How about this?" Gibran also responded to this tweet with a brief question. "Why?"

Previously, the Chinese New Year celebrations that invited crowds at the Chinese New Year celebration center in the Pasar Gede Solo area were also responded casually by Gibran. Gibran said, strict implementation of health protocols was carried out to anticipate the spread of COVID-19.

"We're just being careful so that there's no traffic jams, the procedures are tight, the crowd is a little bit okay, the important thing is that the masks are worn continuously," Gibran said as quoted by Antara.
