Habib Yusuf Alkaff Suspected Of Child Abuse Detained By Pamekasan Police

SURABAYA - Habib Yusuf bin Luqman Alkaff alias Habib Yusuf Alkaff (YA) was detained by the Pamekasan Resort Police, Madura. The detention was carried out after Habib Yusuf Alkaff was named a suspect in a child molestation case.

"This incident of sexual abuse of minors occurred around September 2021, to be precise in Panaguan Village, Proppo District, Pamekasan," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pamekasan Police, AKP Tomy Prambana, confirmed on Monday, February 2.

Tomy explained that the basis for the arrest of the suspect was referring to the police report number LP/B/488/XI/RES.1.24/2021/SPKT/POLRES PAMEKASAN/POLDA EAST JAVA, last November 4, 2021. Then Habib Yusuf was named a suspect by the Satreskrim of the Pamekasan Police.

"Then on the night of January 31, 2022, the perpetrator was arrested at Omben Market, Sampang Regency," he said.

After being arrested, the perpetrator was immediately taken to the Pamekasan Police because he had committed a crime of sexual abuse against a minor.

"Currently, the perpetrators have been detained, starting from February 1, 2022 to February 20, 2022," he said.

AKP Tony said the perpetrator acted by asking the victim to massage the perpetrator. After that, the perpetrator molested the victim in the perpetrator's room, called the police, with the promise of getting blessings and staying young.

"The evidence that we have secured is 1 red checkered Hem shirt, 1 plain red scarf, 1 red sarong with the words Kang Santri on it," he said.

As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 82 paragraph (1), paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 76E of Law No. RI. 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection.

In that article it reads, anyone who violates the provisions as referred to in Article 76E will be sentenced to a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years in prison and a maximum fine of Rp. 5 billion. In addition, in the case of a criminal act as referred to in paragraph (1) if it is committed by a parent, guardian, child caretaker, educator, or education staff, the penalty is increased by 1/3 (one third).

Whereas in Article Jo Article 76E it reads that everyone is prohibited from committing violence or threats of violence, coercing, committing tricks, committing a series of lies, or persuading children to commit or allow obscene acts to be carried out, then if they do so, the punishment is a minimum imprisonment of 5 years. and a maximum of 15 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 5 billion.
