Police Arrest 2 People Related To Explosion At Tangkahan Sibolga Fish, North Sumatra

MEDAN - The Sibolga Police, North Sumatra, revealed an explosion that occurred at the UD Beringin fishing area, Sibolga City, North Sumatra, last week. Two people were arrested.

The Sibolga Police Chief, AKBP Taryono Raharja, said the two arrested suspects had the initials D (31) residents of Central Tapanuli Regency (Tapteng) and FA (37) residents of Sibolga City.

AKBP Taryono said, D is a field operation and the key holder of a warehouse where explosives are stored (the contractor) as well as a provider of explosives.

"Meanwhile, FA is the manager of the ship as well as marketing the fish caught with explosives," said AKBP Taryono, Wednesday, February 2.

The police are currently investigating other parties suspected of being involved. According to AKBP Taryono, when the explosion occurred, it was discovered that the two perpetrators were still at the location. However, the alleged perpetrators of the FA then fled to West Sumatra (West Sumatra) and finally surrendered.

Explosives are the remnants of a number of explosives previously brought by a certain ship from the hands of the two alleged perpetrators.

After going out to sea and unloading fish at Tangkahan, the ship's crew together with the crew (ABK) stored the remaining explosives (lk 60 bottles) in a hut in Panangkalan Hamlet, Tapian Nauli District, Central Tapanuli Regency (Tapteng).

"What was the trigger or trigger that caused the explosion to occur is still in the process of being investigated by the Brimob Police Lab. Likewise where the explosives were obtained from, it is also still being investigated. Information is that the explosives were obtained from outside the area," said AKBP Taryono.
