Attending Haul Mama Title, LaNyalla: Indonesia Is Not Free Without Islamic Boarding Schools

CIANJUR – Indonesia will not be independent without pesantren. This firm statement came from the chairman of the DPD RI, La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, while attending the 30th Haul Mama Degree at the Title Islamic Boarding School, Cianjur, Tuesday, February 1.

According to the senator from East Java, Islamic boarding schools have a very big contribution to the independence of Indonesia and the Indonesian nation. "At the beginning of Indonesia's independence, the Jihad Resolution issued by KH Hasyim Asy'ari on October 22, 1945 ultimately triggered the events of November 10, 1945," said LaNyalla, in a release received by VOI.

The spirit gave birth to a terrible battle which is now commemorated as Heroes' Day. LaNyalla also said pesantren had an important role in Indonesia's independence.

"Furthermore, what is the role of the Ulama in contributing ideas during the BPUPKI and PPKI sessions. Especially regarding the form and basis of the state which was finally agreed upon as the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia or the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on the One Godhead with the Pancasila Democratic System," he added.

LaNyalla was present in Cianjur with Senator from Riau Islands Dharma Setiawan, Secretary General of the DPD RI Rahman Hadi and Deputy for Administration of DPD RI Lalu Niqman Zahir.

The delegation from the Chairperson of the DPD RI was received by the caretaker of the Islamic Boarding School Title KH Muhammad Faisal and other boarding school administrators, KH Aang Zein, KH Fawaidz and KH Usep Abdul Aziz. The Cianjur Police Chief, AKBP Doni Hermawan, and the Chairman of the Indonesian Muay Thai Executive Committee (PBMI) Sudirman also came.

According to LaNyalla, the presence of Islamic boarding schools is also a solution to the problems faced by the community. Both as a solution for education, health, to the solution of social problems.

"Until now, Islamic boarding schools are one of the important pillars as moral guardians and moral guardians of the nation's generation," he explained.

LaNyalla added, he deliberately came to the Islamic boarding school to meet Kyai-ulama to seek knowledge. It has been done since he was young.

"I am looking for knowledge that does not exist in this world. From Kyai to get laduni knowledge, knowledge obtained as a result of personal spiritual experience," he said.

The caretaker of the Title Ponpes, KH Muhammad Faisal hoped that the meeting would not be the first and last but for the next meeting. So that there is a closer ukhuwah between Ulama and Umara. "Ulama and Umara must synergize and unite in advancing the people and the nation," he said.

KH Muhammad Faisal also prayed that LaNyalla, who has many activities and high aspirations, would be given ease.

"Hopefully you will be given a long life, good fortune, extensive knowledge. Regarding the presidential candidacy, if Mr. LaNyalla is ready, why not. Humans must believe and keep trying, the provisions are in God's hands. Hopefully they will be given the best position," he said.

Previously, LaNyalla accompanied by the caretakers of the cottage also made a pilgrimage to the grave of the founder of Ponpes Degree, the late KH Zen Abdusomad (Mama Degree) which is not far from the pesantren.
