Just Out Of The Carolus Hospital, Motorcycle Rider Attacked By Men Using A Sickle

JAKARTA - A CCTV recording video is circulating on social media. In the video, a young man carrying a sharp weapon, a sickle, attacks a motorcycle rider on Jalan Salemba Raya, Senen, Central Jakarta.

The perpetrators numbered two people riding a motorcycle and wearing a helmet. The man sitting in the back seat of the motorbike was carrying a sickle, approached the victim and then slashed the motorcyclist. Meanwhile, the perpetrator's friend was waiting on the side of the road.

Luckily the victim managed to save himself by leaving his motorbike and falling. The perpetrator immediately fled with his partner.

Senen Police Chief Kompol Ari Susanto said the victim was identified as Bima (36). The incident occurred precisely in front of Carolus Hospital, when the victim left the hospital on Saturday, January 29 at around 22.30 WIB.

"The victim just got out of Carolus Hospital, the perpetrator intercepted the exit door and then he was hacked with a sickle," said Kompol Ari when confirmed, Monday, January 31.

The police chief said the victim did not lose any valuables. Based on CCTV monitoring, the Sector Police suspect that the victim and the perpetrator knew each other.

"If you look at the video, because the victim's belongings were not taken, it seems that the victim already knows the perpetrator," said Ari.

The Senen Police Criminal Investigation Unit is currently investigating the two perpetrators.

"We are pursuing the perpetrators. The perpetrators could be two people, more than one, because after the stab the perpetrator ran and there was already a friend waiting on the motorbike," said Ari.

As a result of the attack, the victim suffered injuries to the abdomen, left waist and legs due to falling, not being hit by a sickle. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and then taken home.
