JAKARTA - The Governor of the Special Capital City Region (DKI) Jakarta Anies Baswedan is still focused on completing development programs in Jakarta before thinking about political attitudes in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

"Currently I am still completing all programs in Jakarta, all promises in Jakarta are complete," said Anies, after being a resource person at the opening of the Regional Working Deliberation (Muskerwil) of the PPP Party Regional Leadership Council (DPW) Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), in Yogyakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, 31 January.

This was in response to questions about his progress in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres), following his close relationship with Ridwan Kamil who is also the Governor of West Java.

"After that (the Jakarta program) is finished, then we will think about it," said Anies Baswedan.

Meanwhile, regarding the invitation from PPP to the DIY Regional Head Office in the context of the party bearing the Kaaba symbol, whether as a sign of support for advancing in the 2024 presidential election, Anies was reluctant to comment. "If that's the question to PPP, yes," he said again.

Anies said that he was invited to the PPP Muserwil to share experiences in Jakarta in carrying out development activities whose goal is to create a feeling of equality which can then build unity.

"So, I will explain several things related to the construction of the third room, the construction of transportation, the construction of public facilities, including the stadium which aims to give a feeling of equality," he said.

Anies said that transportation development aims to reduce the cost of living, and to make transportation costs cheaper, which in turn can strengthen the sense of unity in Jakarta.

"I underline that unity must be maintained, must be strengthened by policies that create a feeling of equality that creates a sense of justice," he said.

He said that it would be very difficult to maintain unity, difficult to strengthen if there was inequality, and inequality was very difficult to bring about equality, but equality would be able to strengthen unity.

"That's what we are trying to build in Jakarta, I said earlier, so that the DIY Regional Head Office can pour out development ideas that can strengthen unity, we have tried to implement it in Jakarta and hopefully it will be an inspiration," he said.
