PONTIANAK - Head of the West Kalimantan Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) Anthonius Rawing said his party destroyed 38,880 illegal eggs resulting from control from an egg supplier.

"These 38,880 eggs are marinated duck eggs and arabic chicken eggs which are the result of control from one of the warehouses in Pontianak," said Antonius in Pontianak, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 31.

He explained that the confiscation of the eggs was carried out by his party after receiving a report from the community where his party immediately moved to the location of one of the warehouse complexes.

However, when asking for information and documents related to the eggs, the owner could not show official documents, so according to applicable regulations, his party confiscated the eggs and destroyed them today.

"There are two types, namely rab's eggs and salted eggs, totaling 38,880 eggs. Yesterday's first finding of 12,000 eggs had also been destroyed," he said.

Antonius hopes that the community can do business legally so they don't suffer losses due to the officers' raids.

Meanwhile, the West Kalimantan Regional Secretary, Harisson, said that the West Kalimantan Provincial Government had an obligation to conduct raids on illegal goods, such as eggs, which the Satpol PP carried out today because they did not have official documents.

"If we allow this, it will disrupt price stability. We do this based on reports from the community of farmers who inform the existence of illegal eggs and from the raids it was found that illegal eggs were found," he said.

According to Harisson, the owner of the eggs has been checked and admitted that these eggs are illegal without official documents and this actually endangers public health, because it is feared that these eggs are damaged.

"The information about this egg came from East Java, but it did not enter West Kalimantan following the existing procedures," said Harisson.
