DPR Vaccine Committee Expected To Work Maximum

JAKARTA - Executive Director of Voxpol Research and Consultants, Pangi Syarwi Chaniago, hopes that the vaccine working committee (Panja) formed by the DPR can work optimally.

"I see that there are indications that interested parties want to slow down the pace of the vaccine advance," Pangi said in a written statement quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 30.

According to him, there are many actors and parties with an interest in vaccines, ranging from businessmen to state officials.

According to him, if the committee's performance has not been maximized, an evaluation needs to be done to see what obstacles they are currently experiencing.

Pangi hopes that the Vaccine Committee can be more progressive in its work, not "catching colds", working for the agenda of the benefit of the people, not the will of the cukong and oligarchs.

Previously, Commission IX of the DPR established a COVID-19 Vaccine Supervision Committee since January 20, 2022. The Panja began working during the third trial period for the 2021-2022 Session Year.

Member of Commission IX DPR Kurniasih Mufidayati said the committee that had been formed was tasked with supervising the government's intensified vaccination program.

According to him, Commission IX is currently drafting the committee's agenda, one of which is on regulations and budget allocations for the procurement of vaccines, the import value of which reaches Rp. 44.08 trillion for the procurement of 465.07 million doses of vaccine.
