Erick Thohir Attends The Release Of PT PPI Coffee Exports To Egypt

JAKARTA – The Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, attended the release of PT PPI's first coffee export in 2022 in Lampung. On that occasion, Erick put the lock on the container symbolically, Sunday, January 30.

During the release ceremony, Erick Thohir was also accompanied by the President Director of PT PPI, Nina Sulistyowati, and the President Director of PT RNI Arief Prasetyo Adi as the parent of the ID Food SOE Food Holding, as well as a number of other relevant officials.

PT Perusahaan Trade Indonesia (Persero) or PPI this time exported six containers of coffee to Egypt which was the result of farmers in Sumatra.

"This is our first export in 2022, six containers will be released to be sent to Egypt," said Nina Sulistyowati at the Launching of PMO Kopi Nusantara and the Release of the First Coffee Export for 2022 in Lampung as followed online from Jakarta, Sunday, January 30.

According to Nina, coffee exports to Egypt are the result of the work of farmers in Lampung and other Sumatran areas such as Jambi, Bengkulu and South Sumatra.

"Meanwhile, for one year, we also have plans for cooperation to continue this (coffee) export," Nina said as quoted by Antara.

Throughout 2022, PT PPI will regularly export 3,000 tons of coffee to Egypt and will continue to increase it with development to various other export destination countries.

The types of coffee commodities that are exported have a variety of unique flavors due to the peculiarities of the regional climate in Indonesia. The success of this export is supported by mutually beneficial cooperation with local farmers to encourage national economic growth and export Indonesian commodities.

On the same occasion, the President Director of PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (Persero) or RNI Arief Prasetyo Adi, said that some time ago Erick Thohir and the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, conveyed the formation of ID Food. ID Food is a combination of several BUMN food clusters.

"For downstream, namely trade and logistics, there is PT PPI. This PT PPI which coordinates all things related to downstreaming such as logistics, warehousing, distribution and trade is in PPI," said Arief.
