JAKARTA - The man who went viral pretending to be limping because he claimed to be a hit and run victim has been arrested. It was later discovered that the man with the initials AD was a parking attendant.

"His job is a parking attendant," said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Sunday, January 30.

However, Zulpan did not specify the reasons or motives behind the man pretending to be a hit-and-run victim. He only said that the man was secured at his residence in the Pancoran Mas area, Depok.

"Later, the Chief of Police will release it," said Zulpan.

Previously, the police arrested a man who went viral because he claimed to be a victim of a hit and run in the Pasar Rebo area, East Jakarta.

"Yes (the perpetrator, ed) has been arrested," said East Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKBP Ahsanul Muqqafi.

Meanwhile, a video circulated on social media showing a man claiming to be the victim of a hit and run.

The video initially shows two men riding a motorbike chasing an Avanza car. The two men were about to stop the car under the pretext of asking for responsibility for the foot that was run over.
