MEDAN - The North Sumatran Police have interrogated more than 30 people in the case of the discovery of a prison-like cage at the house of the inactive Langkat Regent, the Terbit Angin Angin Plan.

The North Sumatra Police Chief, Inspector General RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak said the North Sumatra Police and Komnas HAM would continue to investigate and examine anyone involved in the criminal act of the human cage case.

According to him, since the case of the confinement case at the house of the inactive Langkat Regent was revealed, the ranks of the Ditreskrimum and Ditresnarkoba Polda North Sumatra have conducted an investigation and deepening.

"From the results of the investigation, the facts and findings were found to be the same as the facts and findings from the investigation by the Komnas HAM Team," he said, quoted from a statement by the North Sumatra Police Public Relations, Sunday, January 30.

Inspector General Panca revealed that the main finding that became a concern for the North Sumatra Police and Komnas HAM was the loss of life. Therefore, the North Sumatra Police conducted an in-depth study of the findings of people who died in prison-like cages.

"From the facts and findings from the North Sumatra Police and Komnas HAM, more than one victim is missing," he said.

The North Sumatra Police will continue to cooperate in exchanging information with all relevant parties, especially Komnas HAM and other parties to be able to uncover the criminal act of losing the lives of the victims of the illegal cage occupants.

"However, the team is still working to avoid confusion. So the exact number will be announced later," said the North Sumatra Police Chief.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Komnas HAM, Choirul Anam, said that Komnas HAM had not concluded anything. However, the facts presented by residents who came to the cages intended to rehabilitate due to drug abuse without a permit.

"In the operational process and treatment model, the rehabilitation center received intervention from the non-active Langkat Regent," he said.
