Blackmailer Man Pretending To Be Lame, Claims To Be A Hit-and-Run Victim At Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta Arrested By Police

JAKARTA - The police arrested a man who went viral for claiming to be a victim of a hit and run in front of the Plaza PP building, Pasar Rebo area, East Jakarta. It is suspected that the confession was just a crime mode.

"Yes (the perpetrator, ed) has been arrested," said East Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head Grand Commissioner Adjutant Ahsanul Muqqafi to VOI, Sunday, January 30.

The man is known to have the initials AD. However, Muqqafi did not specify whether the man's actions were suspected of being a crime mode. The reason, the man is still under intensive examination.

Confirmed separately, Pasar Rebo Police Chief Commissioner Martson Marbun said the man was arrested on Saturday, January 29, evening.

"Last night we secured it," said Marbun.

However, Marbun also did not elaborate on the case. Because all the handling of the case will be officially announced this afternoon.

"Later, the Chief of Police will release it," he said.

Previously, a video circulated on social media showing a man claiming to be the victim of a hit and run.

The video initially shows two men riding a motorbike chasing an Avanza car.

The two men were about to stop the car under the pretext of asking for responsibility for the run-over. The man jumped from the motorbike and ran towards the front of the car and shouted at the driver of the car.
