Two Breakers Of Dozens Of Minimarkets Across Provinces Shot At Palimanan Toll Road

JAKARTA - Two cross-provincial thieves who often act in a number of minimarkets have been arrested by the Central Java Police Criminal Investigation Department. Director of General Criminal (Dirkrimum) Polda Central Java Kombes Pol Djuhandani said the perpetrators this time were classified as specialists who had acted in 16 locations in 2 provinces, West Java and Central Java.

Djuhandani said, the way this gang used it was to cut the lock on the rolling door, break through the wall, and then damage the door. Not only that, the perpetrators also cut the razor wire and entered through the roof of the mini market.

"In their actions, the perpetrators turned off the minimarket's electricity so that their actions are not known," said Djuhandani, based on a release received on Friday, January 28.

The items stolen by the perpetrators were cigarettes, milk, and cash in a safe with a total loss of Rp. 400 million.

The officer who received a report from a minimarket employee immediately carried out an investigation. As a result, the two perpetrators were arrested after a chase that was marked by shootings by officers at the Palimanan toll road.

"When confronted by officers at the Palimanan Toll Gate, a group of perpetrators driving a black Avanza tried to fight back by hitting the toll gate barrier and almost hitting the officers. Luckily, no officers were injured," he said.

Two perpetrators, MMP (27) and RS (27), were arrested along with evidence from the crime. While the other two perpetrators are still being chased by officers (DPO).

"The perpetrators who have been arrested are subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison," concluded Djuhandani.
