DKI Still Waiting For Confirmation Of 3 Spanish Under-18 Clubs Barcelona, Atletico And Real Madrid Compete At JIS Early February

JAKARTA - The 2021 International Youth Championship (IYC) match is planned to be held at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta, in early February.

The plan, IYC will present three Spanish under-18 football clubs, namely Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid and Indonesia All Star U-20.

However, until now there has been no confirmation of the presence of the three clubs. Tournament Director IYC, Tigorshalom Boboy admitted that his party was still waiting for confirmation of arrival.

"We have submitted the invitation letter since early January. We are still waiting for confirmation of their arrival," Tigor said when contacted, Friday, January 28.

However, Tigor emphasized that there are no plans to postpone the date of this friendly match, although there is no confirmation on the presence of a Spanish football club.

Separately, President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo Widi Amanasto explained that the IYC event was one of a series of soft openings for the JIS inauguration which began on February 5th.

Widi explained, this match will not involve spectators and will only be broadcast on one television station. This was decided together with the central government taking into account the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"There are no spectators, only crews. The point is to coordinate with the Ministry of Health and other ministries for what kind of coordination meeting, because this activity is for Indonesia too, so that Indonesia's name is good," said Widi.

The initial plan was that IYC would take place in two cities, namely Jakarta and Bali. However, after various considerations, the IYC will only be held in Jakarta.

"It's all in Jakarta. It's troublesome if it's (two cities) like that, because transportation is in a COVID-19 condition, it's also dangerous if there are two cities," he explained.
