One Person Becomes A Fugitive In Clashes In Sorong That Kills 18 People

JAKARTA - Police are still hunting for one person related to the riots between two groups in Sorong, West Papua. In this case, two people have been named suspects and detained.

"One person is still on the DPO on behalf of A and is still being chased," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Friday, January 28.

Meanwhile, related to the process of handling this case, investigators have examined dozens of witnesses. The investigation was carried out to uncover cases of fighting and arson at Double O's nightclub.

"The process of examining 31 witnesses has been confirmed," he said.

Previously, Brigadier General Ramadhan stated that in the case of the clash in Sorong, the police had named two suspects. Both had the initials L and R who were declared involved in the act of persecution.

"Investigators from the West Papua Police, have named 2 suspects in connection with the dispute," he said.

Meanwhile, two groups of residents were involved in a clash at Double O Executive Karaoke & Club Sorong, West Papua, Tuesday, January 25. In the series of clashes, 18 people died.

Of the dozens of victims who died, 17 of them were trapped in Double O Executive Karaoke & Club Sorong. The other one died as a result of the assault.
