The Government Will Do These Eight Things To Pursue 8 Percent Economic Growth Target

JAKARTA - Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) Rachmat Pambudy said the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029 explained eight strategies and one policy step to encourage the economy to grow by 8 percent sustainably.

These eight strategies are an increase in agricultural productivity towards food self-sufficiency, industrialization (hilirization) of labor-intensive, export-oriented, and sustainable sectors; blue economy and green economy; tourism and creative economy; urban as centers of economic growth; digital transformation; then investment (foreign direct investment) is export-oriented and investments in non-state Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

Then also state spending for productivity through the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program, construction of 3 million houses, national and village food barns, superior schools, advanced downstreaming, electric vehicles, and others.

"The policy steps taken are deregulation of licensing, fiscal sustainability supported by the Ministry of Finance, as well as pro-growth monetary policy," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 30.

RPJMN is a performance indicator and the focus of development as reflected in the National Strategic Project (PSN) in the next five years.

PSN itself is a selected priority project that has contributed significantly to achieving the targets of RPJMN, 17 priority programs, and 8 fastest best results programs.

According to him, one of the PSNs that has a broad impact on the MBG program will meet the nutrition of pregnant women, toddlers, and school children, as well as encourage student achievement and participation.

"This PSN will improve the welfare of the wider community, create jobs, and increase economic growth by 0.86 percent in the first year of RPJMN. With the contribution of state spenders of Rp71 trillion, it can increase 0.86 percent," said the Head of Bappenas.

The MBG program will encourage new demand for agricultural, food, employment, and logistical facilities that will grow food self-sufficiency, energy, and water villages.

This is accompanied by synergies with forest development as food, energy, and water reserves.

If President Prabowo at that time had a big push strategy program, this is an example of a big push strategy that can be implemented immediately, because large aggregate demand is requested to cause large supply as well.

"So, this demand supply will be an extraordinary boost in economic growth, and it is hoped that the PSN program will have an impact on regional economic growth, so that it can support sustainable national economic growth," said Rachmat Pambudy.

The trajectory of economic growth in 2025 is 5.3 percent, then in 2026 it is 6.3 percent, then 7.3 percent in 2027, 7.7 percent in 2028, and 8 percent in 2029. On average, economic growth over the next five years is 7.0 percent.
