Minister Of Religion: The 2025 Hajj Quota Still Follows The OIC Mechanism
Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar revealed that certainty regarding the 2025 hajj quota still follows the mechanism determined by the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OKI).
This was conveyed by Nasaruddin at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Friday, December 27.
"The certainty of the quota is also like last year. So the point is like that, we will be determined by the OIC," he said when responding to questions related to additional hajj quotas in the coming year, confiscated by Antara.
When asked about the possibility of an additional quota, Nasaruddin emphasized that the priority for the current discussion is the matter of order for the implementation of the hajj.
He emphasized that the government is more careful to ensure the readiness of Hajj services, before considering additional quotas.
Additional quotas will only be considered if readiness has been fully matured. However, until now, talks on additional quotas have not become the main focus.
"Because who knows the additional quota actually provides a burden on the implementation of this pilgrimage," he said.
However, Nasaruddin did not close the opportunity to receive additional quotas if all preparations could be done professionally.
The final decision on this matter will be decided after a meeting with the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia on January 13.
"But the determination will be after we are on the 13th, we will have a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Minister," he said.
