Three Kiosks At Jangkrik Market, East Jakarta, Burned Down By Fire Due To An Electric Short Circuit
JAKARTA - At least 3 kiosks at Jangkrik Market, Jalan Pisangan Baru Tengah, Pisangan Baru Village, Matraman District, East Jakarta, were burned to the ground, Wednesday, December 25 in the morning.
"The cause is suspected to be an electrical short," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Abdul Wahid.
The flames scorched three units of kiosks selling household furniture, basic necessities and frozen food.
"Initially at around 01.35 WIB, the witness saw a puff of smoke above the frozen food stall. Then immediately contacted the fire department," he said.
The fire burned 3 kiosks with a building area of 39 square meters. The fire was extinguished at around 02.51 WIB by 11 fire engines with 44 personnel.
There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the fire incident. However, the total loss is estimated at Rp. 100 million.
