Bali Transportation Agency: Tanah Hary Tanoe Becomes The Location Of The Subway TOD

DENPASAR - Bali Transportation Service (Dishub) said the land of PT MNC Land Tbk. (KPIG) owned by Hary Tanoesoedibjo is prepared to become a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) location for the Bali Subway subway.

"Their commitment has been made (KPIG and the main investor of PT Bumi Indah Prima). The deal is just waiting for the process," said Head of the Bali Transportation Agency, IGW Samsi Gunarta in Denpasar, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 24.

He conveyed that the land owned by entrepreneurs and politicians is located in Tabanan Regency, not far from the tourist attraction of Tanah Lot which is planned to be used as a connected area like a city.

"TOD is an area that is well developed, so it allows people to carry out mobility more efficiently, there are offices, there are recreation areas, malls, hotels collected into one area," said Samsi.

He explained that in this area, people will be able to carry out mobility on foot, even if transportation is needed, the cessation of trains will be connected to other public transportation.

It is known that based on the information disclosure of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Hary Tanoesoedibjo land, it is sold for IDR 5.5 trillion and transactions are targeted for completion in January 2025.

The Bali Transportation Agency does not yet know the area, because the sale and purchase process is carried out with the main investor of the underground rail project PT Bumi Indah Prima.

But generally Samsi sees the area of land needed for the TOD area reaching 50 hectares.

He admitted that initially the subway project was only designed for four phases, namely the first I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport connected to the Kuta, Seminyak, Berawa, and Cemagi Parking Centrals; the second phase from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to Jimbaran, Udayana University, and Nusa Dua; the third phase from Kuta Parking Sentral to Setan, Renon, and Sanur; and the fourth phase from Renon to Sukawati and Ubud.

However, there are plans to develop routes to Tanah Lot, Tabanan, where the Bali Provincial Government wants its projects to be carried out simultaneously but cannot be approved by investors.

"The realization will be that when the planning has been completed, now take the land first, when it is finished, it is planned to be connected," he said.

"Actually, we asked to be used as a job once, but it seems that it will take time and they also need to be pursued regarding construction so that it can be faster," continued Samsi.

Although they have not been able to confirm the construction process in the Tanah Lot area, the Bali Provincial Government is happy with the development of the subway and even wants to create a transit-based area.

According to Samsi, this increases efficiency and facilitates community mobility, and even hopes that expansion will also be carried out in other areas of Bali.

"This is an extension of the Cemagi Canggu route and it may not stop there, it may not stop at Tabanan, there is more chance of a path, we will see later," said the Head of the Bali Transportation Agency.
