A Number Of Areas Affected By Flash Floods In South Tapanuli, Joint Team Cleans Materials

The joint team together with the community worked together to clean up the remaining materials of the flood that hit a number of villages in South Tapanuli, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).

Acting (Plt) Head of BPBD South Tapanuli (Tapsel) Mashuri said the flash floods that hit hundreds of houses still left material.

"Efforts to recover after flash floods in Ingul Jae, Sisoma, Kota Tua, and Simaninggir villages, Tano Tombangan Angkola sub-district, South Tapanuli Regency have been carried out since the disaster occurred," said Mashuri in Silikok, Tuesday, December 24, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the joint team involving BNPB, TNI, BPBD, Damkar, Satpol PP and the community carried out the cleaning of hundreds of buildings affected by the flash floods.

In the process, he continued, the joint team was equipped with a number of equipment consisting of six excavators, three fire engines, two water tanks, and 14 dump trucks.

"They focus on normalizing the Aek Mardia River, cleaning houses of worship and houses of residents," he said.

According to him, cleaning up materials in recovery efforts after the flash floods that hit the area took a lot of time and energy. This is because the flash flood has an impact on hundreds of buildings spread across a number of villages in the area.

Mashuri said that this cleaning requires the synergy of all elements of society to accelerate the recovery process for areas affected by the disaster.

"This recovery is estimated to take the next few days. All parties continue to synergize so that people can immediately return to normal activities," he said.

He said based on temporary data, the flash flood resulted in 700 people displaced and 495 families affected.

"Hundreds of residents displaced are temporarily focused on three locations, namely in Simaninggir near Posyandu, Kotatoa GPA Church, and Kotatoa Hasadaon Palace," he said.

His party is still making various efforts and urging the public to remain alert to further disasters

"Local governments also urge the public to remain vigilant amid the potential for extreme weather," he said.
