Central Java Provincial Government Prepares 40 Christmas And New Year's Command Posts

SEMARANG - The Central Java Provincial Government has alerted 40 monitoring posts for the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 periods spread across various points.

"We have 40 posts spread across 23 type B terminals and 16 type A terminals. We are monitoring through CCTV installed at a number of points, to determine the development of the situation during Christmas and New Year," said Acting Governor of Central Java Nana Sudjana as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 23.

He conveyed this on the sidelines of opening the 2024 Christmas Integrated Command Post and 2025 New Year (Nataru) at the Central Java Transportation Service Office, Semarang City.

The Integrated Christmas and New Year's Command Post is open from 22 December 2024 to 4 January 2025, which is assisted by 40 monitoring posts spread over a number of points.

According to him, the post will provide reports regarding the situation in a number of locations, including places of worship and tourist destinations.

In the integrated post, there are nine coordinators of the field (corbid). Namely traffic corbids, transportation, infrastructure, disaster, health, energy, community basic needs, informatics communication (kominfo), and tourism.

During the Christmas and New Year holidays, he said, what needs to be anticipated is extreme weather that has the potential to occur in a number of areas.

However, the Central Java Provincial Government has coordinated with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), and district/city governments to carry out disaster mitigation and weather modification technology (TMC).

He estimates that during the Christmas and New Year holidays this year there will be around 9.5 million movements of people in and out of Central Java, both for homecoming, Christmas services, and holidays to tourist destinations.

Central Java is sure to be ready to serve the community well during the Christmas and New Year holidays, synergizing with the TNI, Polri, related agencies, religious leaders, and community leaders.

Regarding tourist destinations, he continued, what needed attention were the Guci, Dieng, Tawangmangu, Borobudur, and Menanti Beach which were visited by many people.

Meanwhile, Head of the Central Java Transportation Service, Henggar Budi Anggoro, said that the problem that occurred a lot during the Nataru holiday was related to transportation, especially in tourist attractions or to tourist areas so that coordination continued with the Traffic Directorate of the Central Java Police.

"On average, congestion occurs in Dieng, Guci, Bandungan, Tawangmangu. We have coordinated with the Regional Police," said Henggar, who is also the Daily Chair of the Central Java Provincial Government Integrated Command Post.

For reports, the situation of the Christmas and New Year holidays will be updated on social media in an interval of 15-30 minutes, as well as the addition of CCTV points to facilitate monitoring.
