Have 483 Grams Of Methamphetamine, Banjarmasin Police Arrest Youth

JAKARTA - The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Banjarmasin Police, South Kalimantan Police arrested a young man with the initials MD (29) for possessing and carrying five packages of crystal methamphetamine or 483.64 grams.

"It is possible that the perpetrators wanted to carry out drug transactions because they brought methamphetamine which weighed almost half a kilogram," said Head of Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Banjarmasin Police, Kompol Bala P Dewa in Banjarmasin, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 21, 2024.

Bala said that MD was arrested by officers from the Narcotics Unit while on Jalan Banjar Indah Permai, precisely in front of Jalan Pinang 1, Pemurus Dalam Village, South Banjarmasin District.

The arrests made almost a week, the case is being investigated to find out where the perpetrators got the illicit goods.

Officers arrested MD, who is known to be a resident of Jahri Saleh, Pandan Arum Complex, Block B, Surgi Mufti Village, North Banjarmasin District, while riding a motorcycle to carry the illicit goods.

"A total of five packages of methamphetamine wrapped with several pieces of tissue in a black plastic bag were found by officers in the left front box of the motorcycle driven by the perpetrator when caught," said Head of Drug Investigation Unit representing Banjarmasin Police Chief Kombes Pol. Kuncun Kurniadi.

He revealed that the officers brought the suspect and evidence of methamphetamine to the Banjarmasin Police Narcotics Unit office for further legal proceedings.
