Latest News Mason Mount And Marcus Rashford Ahead Of Manchester United Menjamu Bournemouth

JAKARTA - Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim revealed that Mason Mount will be absent long after receiving his latest injury in a 2-1 win against Manchester City, December 15, 2024, WIB night.

The midfielder was forced off the pitch after playing 14 minutes at the Etihad Stadium, his fourth Premier League game of the season.

Mount met with specialist doctors on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, local time, to determine how severe his injury was.

"A few weeks (Mount will be absent). I don't know the exact date, but it will last a long time and that's all. It's part of football, you have to keep playing," Amorim said when asked how long Mount will be out.

Mount struggled with injury while playing at Old Trafford. For 18 months at the club, the 25-year-old only played 90 minutes full once.

Amory is well aware of the problems that befell the midfielder. He also insisted he would not leave Mount alone.

He promised to help Mount to rediscover his game after recovering.

"All I can do is help Mason Mount teach him how to play. When he's recovering, try to use that time for different things."

"The worst part is we don't have time to train like we should have done after a lot of injuries."

"It's very difficult to recreate the game before they come to the game."

"With Mason, we will help him. It is very difficult for the players to be absent for so long. He tried very hard."

"If they try very hard, we will help them until the end," said Amorim.

Meanwhile, Amorim will decide on Saturday, December 21, 2024, whether Marcus Rashford will be involved or not when hosting Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday, December 22, 2024, WIB night.

Rashford has been removed from the squad list for two consecutive games, against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, or after the Manchester Derby match, Rashford revealed that he wanted to leave the club in an interview.

However, Amorim confirmed that the decision to remove him from the squad against Tottenham was not related to the interview.

The Portuguese coach confirmed that Rashford was dropped because of his performance in training.

"No, it's the same thing, friends, it's the same thing (because of appearances in training)," said Amorim again.

Manchester United continued their positive trend in the Premier League after beating their city rivals. They will host Bournemouth after a 3-4 defeat against Spurs in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
