TANGERANG - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir confirmed that the price of airplane tickets had fallen 10 percent in the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period.

Erick admitted that he received directions from President Prabowo Subianto to ensure the ticket price of the plane dropped during the Nataru holiday.

"That's why I had time to call the President Directors of Garuda, Citilink, and Pelita, and was also checked with Raffi to check-in, that the ticket price was in accordance with the direction of the President," said Erick while visiting Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, Friday, December 20.

Erick said that his party was also coordinating with the Ministry of Transportation to ensure that ticket prices in the Nataru period were under control.

"Mr. Dudy (Minister of Transportation) also at that time chaired several meetings, this price is approximately 10 percent still under control today," he said.

The 10 percent discount on airplane tickets is valid during the Christmas and New Year periods for departures from 19 December 2024 to 3 January 2025.

Discounts also come into effect for purchases as of December 1, 2024.

Seotta Airport itself is one of the busiest airports during the Nataru period, where the number of passengers is estimated at 3.05 million.

This number is predicted to increase by 7 percent from the previous year's period of 2.85 million passengers.

Currently, continued Erick, Soetta Airport capacity reaches 8 million passengers.

According to him, the airport is still loose enough to accommodate passengers in the Nataru period.

On that occasion, Erick also saw firsthand the repairs made at Terminal 3 of Soetta Airport.

"There is a peak today, 180,000 passengers at Soetta Airport, but the capacity is still guaranteed," he said.
