Israeli Reservoir Burns Mosque In West Bank

JAKARTA - Israeli Settlers set fire to mosques in the West Bank, They also wrote "retaliances" to Arabs" on buildings.

A black jelaga can be seen at the entrance to the Muslim holy place in the village of Marda, the northern West Bank. The fire was successfully extinguished before it spread.

Israeli police said they were gathering evidence and evidence at the scene.

"A systematic terror attack was carried out by a group of settlers who burned the al-Walideen Beer mosque," said Nasfat al-Khufash, Head of the Marda Village Council.

"The attacks carried out by this group of settlers are continuous and systematic," he said.

Israeli police and the Shin Bet security service said in a joint statement, "We see this incident very seriously and will act decisively to bring the perpetrator to justice for strict trial."

The Palestinian Authority's Foreign Ministry called the attack the latest of a series of violations and crimes committed by Israeli settlers and called on the UN Security Council to help protect Palestinians.

The United Nations says more than 700,000 Israelis live among 3 million Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, territory Israel captured in 1967.

Most countries consider Israeli settlements built on captured land illegal.

Israel denies this and cites historical and alkitabiah relations with the land.

Violence has escalated in the West Bank since the October 7, 2023 attacks led by Hamas militants in southern Israel, which sparked Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza and broader conflicts in several areas.
