DKI Provincial Government Will Continue Sister City's Cooperation With 23 Countries

JAKARTA - Head of the Regional Cooperation Bureau of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretariat, Marulina Dewi, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, will continue to cooperate with sister cities between Jakarta and cities in 23 countries.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has initiated cooperation with 23 countries for sister city and 102 domestic cooperation for this year.

According to Dewi, sister city cooperation can increase the capacity of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to study city management from various countries.

So, when they return to Jakarta, these ASN can provide new innovations in formulating policies and development programs, so that Jakarta grows better and is equal to developed cities in the world.

"The DKI Provincial Government has sent ASN internships to New York to learn city management. Then, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also sent ASN to the Netherlands to study flood management and river restoration. This foreign cooperation is expected to continue to encourage Jakarta's ranking as a global city," said Dewi in her statement, Friday, December 20.

In addition, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also building cooperation in the country. Throughout 2024, there were a total of 102 cooperation manuscripts signed for urban development.

"This is all to encourage public services in the DKI Provincial Government and accelerate the development of the City of Jakarta," said Dewi.

Previously, the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, said that the DKI Provincial Government was compiling a grand design of regional cooperation for 2025-2045. This grand design is used as a road map to develop future development work plans.

In addition, this grand design will also be synchronized with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's development plan in the short and long term.

Teguh explained that cooperation is something that needs to be established by a country and nation. Moreover, Jakarta is currently transforming into a global city.

"In this transformation, cooperation is certainly a must. So, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to cooperate with various parties," said Teguh, Thursday, December 19.
