DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Holds Christmas Carol Again, Here's The Schedule And Location!
JAKARTA The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) is again holding a Christmas Carol to celebrate the 2024 Christmas Day celebration. This event will take place in various public spaces in Jakarta until Monday, December 23, 2024.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf), Andhika Permata, explained that the choir singing the Christmas songs will be held at a number of strategic points in five administrative areas of Jakarta.
"It's time to celebrate Christmas in Jakarta with the Christmas Kidung (Christmas Carol), which is back in various locations in public spaces in Jakarta," Andhika said in his statement on Friday, December 20, 2024.
The Christmas Carol activity was first introduced in 2019 by the former Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan. This tradition was resumed by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono, since 2022, as a way to enliven the Christmas atmosphere in the capital city.
As in previous years, this event features a special Christmas choir and music that can be enjoyed by the public. In addition to presenting a solemn atmosphere, Christmas Carol is also an attraction for residents who want to enjoy the beauty of public spaces and tourist destinations in Jakarta.
"It has become a routine agenda for Jakarta to celebrate Christmas by presenting Christmas Carol. Through this event, we want to convey a message that Jakarta as a global city is a city that is diverse and open to all people," explained Andhika.
