Karawang Betters Station Will Operate Next Year, Serve 31 Trips Per Day
JAKARTA - KarawangASH Station, which is targeted to operate in early 2025. The station, located in Karawang, West Java, will serve 31 high-speed train trips per day.
Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi also encouraged the acceleration of the construction of road access to the Karawang High Speed Train Station, to support station operations which are expected to start early next year. So that the community gets optimal results from the existence of the station.
"The operational plan of the Karawang High Speed Train Station is an important step in supporting the development of integrated fast transportation," he said in an official statement, Friday, December 13.
According to Dudy, this station will be one of the strategic points in developing a fast and integrated transportation system in Indonesia.
"We hope this can provide convenience for the community while at the same time encouraging economic growth in the Karawang area and its surroundings," he said.
As part of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) route, to support the operation of the Karawang High Speed Train Station, the train travel frequency will be increased from 48 to 62 train trips per day.
"A total of 31 train trips will stop at the Karawang High Speed Train Station," he said.
In order to support the connectivity of the Karawang High Speed Train station with the surrounding area, continued Dudy, this station is planned to be connected to other modes of transportation such as clumping buses or feeders and public transportation.
In preparation for operations, Dudy underlined the importance of close collaboration between the central government, local governments, and the private sector to accelerate the completion of road access work and other technical preparations.

"The Ministry of Transportation has also committed to ensuring the safety, comfort, and smooth operation of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, especially at the Karawang High-speed Rail Station. This effort is part of the government's vision to build modern, efficient, and sustainable transportation infrastructure in Indonesia," he said.
Dudy also hopes that the existence of this station will be able to improve regional connectivity, reduce congestion, and accelerate the movement of goods and people, especially between Karawang and Jakarta, and can become a strategic transportation center.
"The existence of this station is also expected to be the main driver of the development of the surrounding area, create new economic opportunities, and strengthen the industrial sector in Karawang," he said.
