Still Focusing On Finishing Five Toll Projects, Jasa Marga Opens Opportunities For Another Section Auction

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) said that currently the company is still focusing on completing five toll projects.

However, JSMR will evaluate the potential to participate in other toll road auctions.

Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said the five toll roads in question were the South Jakarta "Cikampek II" Toll Road, the Yogyakarta "Bawen Toll Road, the Solo "Yogyakarta Toll Road, the Probolinggo "Banyuwangi Toll Road and the Patimban Access Toll Road.

"So, at this time we are focusing (on the five toll roads in question). If later there are potential sections that have been delivered, of course, they will go through stages internally so that further evaluation can be carried out," said Lisye when met at the Jasamarga Tollroad Command Center, Bekasi, West Java, Friday, December 13.

When asked about the potential for participating in the Puncak Toll auction, Lisye did not provide much information.

According to him, Jasa Marga is currently focusing on completing the five toll projects being worked on.

"In principle, Jasa Marga is now focusing on the five toll roads we are working on," he said.

Meanwhile, Jasa Marga's Business Development Group Head Aldrin Maulana also said the same thing.

He did not rule out participating in other potential toll road auctions.

"Regarding the Puncak Toll Road, Jasa Marga is currently still focused on five construction sections. So, we do not rule out the possibility of getting new potential sections," he said.

In addition to the Puncak Toll Road, the government also plans to conduct an auction of the Tasikmalaya 'Cilacap (Getaci) Toll Road.

Initially, this project was targeted to start construction at the end of 2023. However, until now there is still no sign of the start of construction.

Director of Block Free Roads of the Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of PUPR Triono Junoasmono, said that currently the toll road project is still in the auction stage.

"The battery, right, is in the auction stage," he said when met by reporters at the National Working Meeting on Acceleration and Pre-Evaluation of PSN at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 14.

The man who is familiarly called Yongki said that currently there are companies that are interested in working on the longest toll road project in Indonesia.

However, he could not provide details.

"The proof is that someone has entered the pre-qualification process, there are several companies. It means that someone is interested," he said.

He also targets that the toll auction stage can be completed by the end of 2024. Thus, construction work can be carried out immediately.

"Hopefully the auction target can be completed this year. Hopefully we will target the main completion of the auction at the end of this year so that the physical (work) can start at the end of the year or early next year," he said.
