KPK Working On Acting Governor Of Papua Regarding Alleged Corruption Of Operational Funds

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned the Acting Governor of Papua Ridwan Ruikutun today, Wednesday, December 11. He will be questioned regarding allegations of corruption in operational support funds and programs to improve official services.

"The investigation was carried out at the Papua Police," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters, Wednesday, December 11.

Apart from Ridwan, there were two other witnesses who were also summoned. They are Lusiana Samaya as the Financial Entrepreneurship Officer (PPK-SKPD) of the Papua Provincial Secretariat and Woro Pujiastuti as the Expenditure Treasurer.

Tessa has not been informed about the presence of the three witnesses. However, their statements are needed to make cases that are being investigated.

On a separate occasion, Tessa said this case was the development of the case that ensnared former Papua Governor Lukas Enembe who had died. He said that there were already suspects who were named in the investigation warrant (sprindik).

"If I'm not mistaken, yes, the payer is the late Lukas Enembe," he said some time ago.

Tessa ensured that the suspect in this case would be detained. However, he said investigators were still strengthening evidence.

Those who must be responsible in this case will also be summoned later. "KPK needs time to collect and strengthen the evidence," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

"Including (asking, red) witness statements as well as summoning parties who are indeed responsible for the case. But it is running (the process, ed) even though Lukas Enembe died," continued Tessa.

Previously reported, the KPK is again investigating allegations of corruption in Papua. Investigations related to operational support funds and service programs for the governor and deputy.

This case was mentioned by the Director of KPK Investigation, Asep Guntur, who said that the corruption of the Papua Governor's operational funds involving Lukas Enembe would soon go up to investigation in September 2023. The final stage of preparation has been carried out.

Lukas was already dead while his legal process was still ongoing. He breathed his last at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Jakarta, on December 26, 2023.

In an effort to investigate, investigators have conducted a search and found evidence in the form of documents and electronic evidence. This forced effort was carried out at the Papua Regional Secretary's Office (Setda) on Monday, November 4, 2024.
