Chery's ICar 03, Stylish Electric SUV With Innovative Solar Panel

JAKARTA - iCar, the electric vehicle brand under the auspices of Chery, which was launched earlier this year, kicked off with the presence of a hardcore electric SUV, iCar 03, at the ongoing Guangzhou Auto Show 2023.

iCar 03 is the first production model from iCar for the younger generation aged 25-35 years, iCar 03 offers an attractive pre-sale price range of 140,000-190,000 yuan (IDR 300 million-IDR 408 million).

The official pre-sales will begin on December 18 with a promise of immediate delivery. Reporting from Carnewschina, November 19, the car has a dimensions of 4406 mm, a width of 1910 mm, and a height of 1715 mm, and a wheelbase of 2715 mm.

iCar 03 comes with a stunning plaid design and four heavy variants of 1679 kg, 1775 kg, 1800 kg, and 1892 kg, respectively.

The presence of additional solar panels on the front and roof of iCar 03 is not only visually attractive but also serves to provide additional electrical energy. Chery claims that in the Shanghai area, this solar panel can increase its reach by more than 2,000 km throughout the year.

The back of iCar 03 is equipped with an external spare tire storage compartment, while the backdoor can be opened to the side. The interior carries a green and black color alloy scheme with a 15.4-inch central control screen, equipped with an i-VA smart interaction system. This virtual assistant is promised to provide a more "humanist" experience of communication and entertainment interactions.

Other features include wireless charging for phones, an Infinity 12-speaker audio system, and security features such as anti-locked braking systems, electronic braking force distributions, and electronic stability programs.

The two-wheel drive version is equipped with a 135 kW electric motor, while the four-wheel drive version has a double motorbike with a maximum power of 70 kW and 135 kW, respectively. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/hour can be achieved in 6.5 seconds.

Meanwhile, the lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a capacity of 65 kWh and 69 kWh, supplied by CATL, provides an official range of CLTC trips of up to 500 km. Not only that, iCar 03 is also supported by off-road 8+X driving mode, including snow, mud, sand, and gravel.
