Waiting Time Reaches 1 Hour, YLKI Suggests Jabodebek LRT Tariffs To Be Lowered
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Consumer Foundation (YLKI) recommends that the Jabodebek LRT tariff be lowered again. The reason is, currently the train series operated is only 8. This condition makes the waiting time or train headway reach 1 hour.
YLKI Daily Chair Tulus Abadi said the waiting time or headway should be made shorter so that people want to use public transportation.
"If the headway is up to 1 hour, where there is transportation, the headway problem for up to 1 hour is not funny, 15 minutes it's been a long time, there's an hour," he told reporters, in Jakarta, written Friday, November 17.
In order not to be abandoned by the community, Tulus said management could reduce the Jabodebek LRT tariff. At least, he continued, it was returned to the promo rate at IDR 5,000 to IDR 10,000.
As for now, management has set a maximum rate for the Jabodebek LRT of IDR 20,000 for the furthest distance.
"In my opinion, return it to the promotion rate of IDR 5,000 or IDR 10,000 to build user loyalty until the headway returns to normal," he said.
Furthermore, Tulus said the Jabodebek LRT must conduct an evaluation related to the condition of the train waiting time which reaches 1 hour, and the current tariff.
"This must be evaluated related to the LRT (Jabodebek) which concerns the reliability of its products," he said.
The reason, continued Tulus, if viewed from consumer glasses, this headway reaching 1 hour can harm the public as a user of the Jabodebek LRT.
"Like it or not, if the headway cannot be fulfilled, it is very, very detrimental to consumers and also harms the LRT (Jabodebek) itself," he said.
