Anticipating Floods In The Rainy Season, East Jakarta Only Relys On Infiltration Wells And Reservoir Dredging
JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government continues to prepare for flood anticipation ahead of the rainy season. One of the efforts to deal with the flood is by building infiltration wells as deep as 30 meters, dredging reservoirs, maintaining waterways to community service in the environment.
"We are still normalizing reservoirs, dredging PHB (connector) channels, repairing channels, construction of channels, including the construction of infiltration wells as deep as 30 meters," said East Jakarta Mayor M Anwar, Wednesday, November 8.
Currently, the East Jakarta City Government has built around 4000 infiltration wells spread across East Jakarta.
Not only as one of the flood controllers, the infiltration wells that have been built are able to keep East Jakarta from experiencing drought, the thousands of infiltration wells are able to maintain water in the ground.
