The President Agrees On The Karo Of North Sumatra To Build A 6 Meter High Jokowi Statue
MEDAN - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) invited residents of six villages and three hamlets scattered in four sub-districts that had sent three tons of oranges to the Jakarta Presidential Palace in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, to establish the Jokowi Juma (Adang) monument.
"Good afternoon. Please Mr. Kades," said the President in a direct conversation with the Chairman of the Committee for the Development of the Juma Jokowi Adil Sebayang Monument in Kutambelin Village, Lau Baleng District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra, Saturday, November 4.
The President answered the question via video call using a device belonging to his son-in-law Bobby Nasution who is also the Mayor of Medan at the groundbreaking of the Juma Jokowi monument in Beru Simelo Hill, Liang Melas Datas, Kutambelin Village, Lau Baleng, Karo Regency.
Jokowi explained that the government's task is to serve the people, build infrastructure, improve the welfare of the community and so on.
"The task of the government is to serve the people. The task of making the road is the government's duty. The most important thing is that the construction of this road is carried out naturally," said the President.
Adil Sebayang then asked President Jokowi's hope because in a few moments he would lay the first stone for the Juma Jokowi monument.
The Juma Jokowi Monument is planned to be built as high as six meters with a foundation depth of about 1.5 meters in Beru Simelo Hill, Kutambelin Village, Lau Baleng District, Karo Regency.
Hearing this, President Jokowi laughed happily and admitted that he was happy by thanking the people of Liang Melas Datas.
"Mr. village head and all residents, I'm happy if the community is happy, that's all. I'm just following the people. Thank you, Mr. village head, all residents in Liang Melas Datas. Thank you, good afternoon," said Jokowi.
Moments later the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution, representatives of the governors of North Sumatra and Karo Regent Cory Sebayang laid the first stone for the Juma Jokowi monument.
Liang Melas Datas is the name of the region consisting of six villages and three hamlets in four sub-districts, such as Kutambelin in Lau Baleng, Polatebu in Kutabuluh, Suka Julu, Kutambaru Punti and Batu Mamak in Tiga Binanga, and Kuta Pengkih in Marwall.
Not long after the residents of Liang Melas Datas gave three tons of oranges to the Jakarta Presidential Palace on Monday, December 6, 2021, road infrastructure in Liang Melas Datas was immediately repaired.

Along 37.2 kilometers, road infrastructure in Liang Melas Datas began to be repaired because more than 30 years of damage, including until now the road segment has been repaired for about 17 kilometers.
Residents of Liang Melas Datas ask that road infrastructure be repaired immediately so that it is easier to distribute agricultural products of horticulture, such as oranges, corn, and red chilies, which are easy to market.
