Australian PM Visits China Next Week
JAKARTA - Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will visit China in early November 2023 to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and his side Li Qiang.
During Albanese's visit to China on November 4-7, the leaders of the two countries will discuss cooperation in the fields of economics, climate change, and inter-community relations, the Australian Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.
Meanwhile, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Albanese's visit on Monday, October 23.
"On the invitation of Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, Albanese will attend China's 6th International Import Exhibition next week," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning.
A healthy and stable bilateral relationship is needed for the fundamental interests of the two countries and their communities, which can also help maintain peace and stability in the region and the world, Mao said, according to the Beijing-based Global Times daily.
China says it is ready to cooperate with Australia to strengthen bilateral relations, enhance cooperation in various fields, and encourage sustainable development, which could provide more benefits to the two countries.
