KPU: Registration For Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates For The Ganjar Coalition Thursday At 11.00
JAKARTA - Member of the General Election Commission (KPU) Idham Holik admitted that he had received a notification letter from the coalition of political parties that would carry the presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo to register his presidential and vice presidential candidate pair in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
"The coalition or coalition of PDI-P political parties, PPP, Hanura Party, and Perindo Party have submitted a notification letter for the registration plan for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the KPU which will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11.00 WIB until completion," said Idham to ANTARA, Wednesday, October 18.
However, until now the figure of Ganjar's future vice presidential candidate is still unknown. PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri will announce the figure today at the PDIP DPP Office, Jakarta.
The coalition for presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo will become the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair who will register second on October 19, 2023.
Idham said the notification letter was given to the Indonesian KPU on Tuesday night.
Previously, the Chairman of the Advisory Council of PPP Romahurmuziy admitted that the Ganjar Coalition would register its presidential and vice presidential candidates with the KPU on the first day of the opening, namely October 19, 2023.
"The plan is to register the presidential and vice-presidential candidates. But details and of course they will be delivered after the announcement this morning by the general chairman," said the man who is familiarly called Romy in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Romy emphasized that this would be conveyed directly by the general chairmen who brought Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. The general chairmen of the PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri, Acting Chairperson of the PPP DPP Mardiono, General Chairperson of the Hanura Party DPP Oesman Sapta Odang, and Chairman of the Perindo Party Hari Tanoesoedibjo.
Based on the schedule set by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled to start from October 19 to November 25, 2023.

As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.
Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
