Regarding Players' Rotation Against Brunei Darussalam, Shin Tae-Yong Said This
JAKARTA – Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong will rotate players against Brunei Darussalam in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone.
The second leg duel in the first round of qualifying for this prestigious quadrennial event will be held at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, Bandar Seri Begawan, Tuesday, 17 October 2023.
"We will play the match we want tomorrow. There is not much player rotation and tactics for tomorrow's match," said the coach from South Korea, quoted on the federation website.
Indonesia's opportunity to reach the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications is wide open. This was after a landslide 6-0 victory in the first leg last Thursday midweek at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.
Even though Indonesia's position is quite safe, Shin is still aiming for victory when playing this away match. It seems that the target will still run smoothly even if the coach plays substitute players.
"The natural thing in football is that we can score a lot of goals or not, that also applies to tomorrow's match," said the coach, who is currently 53 years old.
Indonesia will certainly not be strengthened by Marselino Ferdinan, who is one of the mainstay players. The player was not brought with the squad because he still needs further recovery.
Previously, Marselino also did not play when the Indonesian national team played the first leg. At that time he was not even on the list of players on the bench.
