Police Secure Dozens Of Illegal Racing Motorcycles In Garut
Garut Police secured 23 motorbikes and 39 people who carried out illegal races on Jalan Ibrahim Aji, Tarogong Kaler District, Garut Regency, West Java, which has often disturbed the public.
"From the raid, we secured 39 people and 23 motorbikes," said Garut Police Chief AKBP Rohman Yonky Dilatha, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 7.
Garut Police take firm action against those who have been carrying out illegal racing activities at night on Ibrahim Aji Street.
As happened on Friday (6/10) night, he said, there were many young teenagers or still students who did illegal races on the highway, thus disrupting community activities as road users.
"This raid was carried out because of the many complaints from the public about illegal racing and 'brong' exhaust (noise)," he said.
Those who were secured at the location of the illegal race were taken directly to the Garut Police Headquarters for further investigation.
All underwent urine tests to detect the presence or absence of drug abuse, and the results were all negative.
"After being taken to the Garut Police, data collection and urine checks were immediately carried out, from the results of this urine check, all of them were negative," he said.

The teenager who was arrested was summoned by their respective parents to be given guidance and the agreement would no longer repeat actions that interfere with comfort and public order such as illegal racing.
The police hope that illegal races will no longer occur in Garut, as well as no motorized vehicles that use noisy exhausts or non-facturing standards, and parents must prohibit their children from using motorbikes because they are not old enough.
"For motorbikes that use a 'brong' exhaust, they are told to replace it with a standard exhaust, while those that are not equipped with documents are ticketed," he said.
