Press Price, Market Operations Rice Disbursed 4,500 Tons To Cipinang

JAKARTA - The National Food Agency (NFA) asked Perum Bulog to pour 4,500 tons of market operations or stabilization of Food Supply and Price (SPHP) to the Cipinang Rice Main Market (PIBC).

Head of the National Food Agency (NFA) Arief Prasetyo Adi said the SPHP rice was disbursed in order to meet market needs and suppress the surge in inflation.

He said that the disbursement of SPHP rice to PIBC was directed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to continue to expand Bulog rice coverage.

For the initial stage, said Arief, Bulog will send a total of 4,500 tons to PIBC, 1,500 tons to 50 certified traders and 3,000 tons to be sent to the DKI BUMD Food Station warehouse in PIBC.

"This is our focus to flood the market with SPHP rice, where we arrange the price according to the HET, namely the highest selling price to the consumer level of a maximum of Rp. 10,900 per kg. With the flooding of PIBC with SPHP rice, it is hoped that it can reduce rice prices again," he said in an official statement, Friday, September 15.

Arief said the National Food Agency together with Bulog continued to pour SPHP medium rice to PIBC for food stabilization.

"Today we disburse it to the first 50 traders whose data has been verified by the Trade Industry Office of the DKI Jakarta Province Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperative. The traders get 30 tons each," he said.

For this reason, Arief requested that all shops selling Bulog's SPHP rice must put up price information banners so that people can easily and quickly obtain information about the distribution of rice in the market.

MeLAkui mekanisme tersebut, masyarakat dapat memperoleh beras SPHP dengan harga yang tidak melebihi Harga Retail Tinggi (HET) yang telah ditetapkan oleh Pemerintah.

The price of SPHP rice in PIBC is at the highest of Rp. 10,385 per kilogram (kg) and in the derivative market or at the retail level to the community, the highest retail price is Rp. 10,900 per kg.

Arief also asked all parties to participate in supervising the distribution of this SPHP rice at the highest retail price set. Together with the National Police Food Task Force, the Food Agency will also ensure that the distribution of SPHP rice is distributed to derivative markets properly.

"I also invite all parties to jointly supervise, if there are things that deviate and do not meet, please report to us or the food task force so that the distribution of this rice is really right on target, and the impact is able to withstand the surge in rice prices so that it returns to stability," said Arief.

Furthermore, Arief also said that with the disbursement of the SPHP rice, the public did not need to worry because the stock was available and sufficient. Therefore, he also appealed to the public not to buy more than usual normal needs.

"So I urge the whole community to shop wisely, there is no need to buy rice outside of normal needs, because the existing rice stock is sufficient to meet market needs," he concluded.
