Rock In Solo Festival 2023 Announces Line Up of International Performers, There's Cryptopsy
JAKARTA - Rock In Solo Festival 2023 at a press conference at the Radya Pustaka Museum Surakarta, Central Java today, Monday, September 11, announced the line up of performers from abroad.
The press conference, which was also broadcast live on the YouTube channels Rock In Solo, Disbudpar Surakarta and Gibran TV, confirmed that three well-known bands on the metal music scene were ready to present.
Cryptopsy, a metal band from Canada, was the first performer mentioned. Formed in 1992, the band holds the top spot in album sales among hardcore music listeners.
"This band also appeared at Metal Guerilla #14 in 2019, which was held in Banyuwangi," said Eden Pratama as MC of the press conference when introducing Cryptopsy.
Recently, Cryptopsy also released the album As Gomorrah Burns. Currently, they are on an American tour entitled Carnival Of Death Tour 2023.
Then, the second performer revealed was Thy Art Is Murder. In his statement, the MC explained that the last time this Australian band toured the Asian continent was in 2018.
"Thy Art Is Murder is a deathcore band from Australia which was formed in 2006. One of their best-selling albums is Dear Desolation," said Eden Pratama.
"This band managed to enter the Top 5 in the Top 40 Australian Chart, thus making history as the best-selling hardcore album in Australia," he added.
Meanwhile, the last name announced was Behemoth, a band from Poland. This band was formed in 1991. They have released 12 albums in the period 1995-2022.

It is known that Behemoth has appeared at least twice in Indonesia. In fact, they were guests at the 2013 Rock In Solo Festival.
"Behemoth first performed in Indonesia on November 3, 2008. And the second time they performed was on November 3, 2013 at the 2013 Rock In Solo event," said Eden.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Rock In Solo Festival will be held at Vastenburg Fort, Surakarta on December 10.
The three foreign bands mentioned above will perform together with domestic bands with rock music which will be announced in the near future.
