Myanmar Absent, Moeldoko: ASEAN's 43rd Summit Continues

Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said the holding of the 43rd ASEAN Summit would continue even though Myanmar was not present.

As is known, the 43rd ASEAN Summit was held in Jakarta, from September 5 to 7, 2023.

Later from the Minister of Foreign Affairs there will be an explanation. No (disturbing), the summit will continue," he said at the Media Center of the ASEAN Summit, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 5.

Even though ASEAN is filled with differences, said Moeldoko, it does not mean it is part of a split.

According to him, differences are a natural thing.

"It was conveyed by the President that how big the ASEAN is does not mean that it is part of a split. Difference is natural from a democracy. And this is expected to continue to grow properly," he said.

Previously, a number of ASEAN state leaders arrived and attended the 43rd ASEAN Summit at the Plenary Hall Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

Since the measurement of 09.35 WIB, the leaders of the state have arrived alternately. Among them are Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, to the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah. However, Myanmar representatives did not appear to attend.
