Dandim 0316/Batam was immediately rushed to the health room for allegedly throwing stones at the nose until it bleeding.

"I ask everyone to be patient, this is the first time I have been thrown by stones while securing the action. We are all patient here, so I ask residents not to be anarchic," said Dandim to residents quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 23.

The residents' actions were also responded to by the Head of the Barelang Police, Kombes Nugroho Tri Nuryanto, who participated in the security.

"I ask the residents to be patient, because we are only here to provide security. Let's wait for the results of the decision from representatives of residents who are holding a meeting with BP Batam. Because we cannot make decisions," he said.

Head of the Batam Entrepreneurship Agency (BP) Muhammad Rudi promised to discuss the status of Kampung Tua in front of thousands of people who took action against the development of Pulau Rempang and Galang as Eco City areas,

The action required the government not to relocate in 16 locations of Kampung Tua in the area.

"What you demand is the status of 16 Old Village locations that must be issued for investment development, this is what we will convey to the central government," said Rudi.

He said the residents' requests were immediately submitted to the central government. However, at this time his party still needs data collection related to protected forest boundaries in the area.

"After this is resolved, then we will return to Jakarta and convey the real problem," said Rudi.
