Factory Fire In Palembang, PT Pusri Calls No Casualties
Vice President of Public Relations of PT Pupuk Sriwijaya (Pusri) Rustam Effendi confirmed that there were no casualties related to the fire at the Counvire STG Batu Bara Factory in the Pusri area on Friday, August 18 in the morning.
"Now that the incident has been controlled, the factory continues to operate normally and there are no victims in the incident," said Rustam in Palembang, Friday, August 18, quoted by Antara.
He explained that the incident began when a fire appeared on the roof of the conveyor gallery at around 01.45 WIB. The closing of this conveyor galery serves to protect the conveyor belt.
"The security protection system and fire springkle are working well and supported by the fire department owned by PT Pusri Palembang, so that the fire was successfully extinguished in a short time, approximately 1 hour," he explained.
Rustam said Pusri's management has always been committed to carrying out work and environmental safety aspects.
"On these conditions, it is ensured that it will not affect the distribution of fertilizers and the position of fertilizer stocks remains safe according to the provisions in all areas of the distribution of PT Pusri Palembang," he said.

Meanwhile, the Palembang Polrestabes Team, South Sumatra (Sumsel) conducted an investigation into the fire case at the Counvire STG Batu Bara Factory in the PT Pusri area, Friday, August 18 at around 01.55 WIB.
"The team is currently working at the location of the fire to uncover the cause of the fire and other things, including the possibility of casualties," said Head of the Palembang Police Criminal and Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) AKBP Haris Dinzah.
In addition to checking the crime scene (TKP), he said, officers were also trying to collect information from a number of witnesses, especially factory and security officers who knew about the fire incident.
To carry out the crime scene, the Palembang Polrestabes Team and the Kalidoni Police were supported by the South Sumatra Police Labfor team.
"TKP processing activities are expected to run well and the witness provides actual information, so that the cause of the fire case can be revealed as soon as possible," he said.
